Raven Post

This blog, so called Corvo Correio - Raven Post - was created on the 24th of March, 2011. I had just turned 16, 22 days before, and I was feeling incredibly mature and ready to let everyone see me not just as a visual artist, but as the writer I had so passionately become. More than that, I was ready to let the world read me. And how that worked! Once, my father told me that he used to read my posts to get a better understanding of what was going on in my head when I was younger. For the good or for the bad, I was capable of painting with my words perfect portraits of everything I've been through these years.

The name Raven Post came to me because of a personal joke I had, on how ravens were much more interesting than pigeons. Ravens happen to be the most intelligent birds there is, with an extraordinary memory, a surprising sense of family and belonging, and also the central figures of one of my favourite poems ever - The Raven, by the always impressive Edgar Allan Poe. "Quoth the Raven  'Nevermore'".

Six years later, I still don't know if I'll ever become a proper writer myself - and I honestly don't believe that I am that much of a good one. Writing, to me, is all about this overflow of feelings that I could no longer contain and decided to let go. The following lines may be the result of a lot of work and carefully planned development, but the first one always comes from deep inside my heart. God has taught me so much about myself and others while writing that I could never say it's not something from above. I may never get to publish any of this, but I solemnly swear that I'll never stop writing.
